Although a basic pair of jeans are a girl’s best friend, what girl doesn’t dream about a sequined pair? Ever since I saw these Topshop sparkly flamingo/palm tree jeans, I knew I had to have them. They are part kitsch/part glamour and are sure to get you infinite compliments. The high waisted boyfriend style makes them a little harder to wear, so have a crop top handy to round out your look.
I paired them with two tops: a white off-the-shoulder bell sleeve bustier beauty from Bardot that I found on my favorite site Revolve and layered it with a pink crushed velvet cami from Topshop. Either top alone are great summer staples, but combined they add an extra “wow” factor to the look. Layering a statement top under a more thin tank top can be tricky, so make sure your initial layer is not bulky and the shape is somewhat streamlined. In this case, the layer technique worked well because the white top is a bustier style and very body-con as a result.
As I’m sure you’ll also notice, I chose to rock velvet in summer. I love the look and texture of crushed velvet so I just went for it. Since the color is light, it feels more seasonally appropriate. By the way, baby pink is having such a moment right now so don’t be hater, embrace your 5-year old self and work some into your wardrobe.
Metallic Dior sandals and a vintage beige Chanel caviar bag are the perfect summer accessories for this outfit. The jeans and shoes both have a lot going on, so I selected a more neutral bag tone to play down the overall vibe of the look.
And let’s not forget the sunnies, never forget the sunnies. I’m in my most prized vintage pair. To me, they go with everything (or nothing, so everything.) I’m in a neutral lip with Spice liner (a color I legit wore in 7th grace) underneath Fleshpot lipstick – both from MAC and my signature wavy hair.
Can you say Pina Colada???
