Every Friday, I think longingly about the upcoming weekend (truth be known, I start longing around Wednesday). I don’t know about you, but I love my “weekend” clothing. Gone are the high heels and binding waistbands of the work week, and instead I slip on some funky sneakers and a cozy sweatshirt and feel immediately at ease.
These days, there are so many great options for casual wear that you do not need to sacrifice style for comfort. There are amazing jeans (with ot without rips) and leggings (like the faux leather ones below) are as stretchy as they are cute and can be paired with t-shirts, soft sweaters or flannels.
The sneaker game this season is out of control. There is more bling, patterns and colors then a girl can take. Look at how amazing the Fenty Puma kicks by Rhianna are below! I squealed with delight when I saw the ankle strap and platform heel.
Another great trend this year is the return of the backpack. What a great way to add some style (and storage) to your weekend look. Backpacks are available in a variety of prints (animal, floral, etc) and textures (faux fur, leather) with decadent embellishments like studs and chains.
One of my favorite ways to keep a low profile over the weekend is to throw on a baseball hat and a big pair of sunnies….This allows me to avoid doing my hair or wearing eye-make up (while hiding that fact from onlookers or that person from high school that you unexpectedly run into at the drugstore). I especially love the David and Young leopard hat below (and if you have followed me for any length of time, you know the bigger the sunglasses, the happier I am). I also love the pop of color on the Halogen Faux Fur Jockey Hat.
Finally, a great way to add a last minute bump up to your look is to throw on an oversized scarf. There are some gorgeous plaid ones out this season as well as flattering pale tones likes the pink one below from H&M.
Happy styling… xx Amanda Brooke
