Sometimes the most basic pieces, like jeans and a sweater, can be pumped up to the next level with some unexpected detail. When I first laid eyes on these pearl embellished Jonathan Simkhai studded boyfriend jeans, I knew I had to have them. The rips, the pearls, the flared leg- where to begin? I chose to pair these denim beauties with a Topshop Pontelle Detail Sweater in a wonderful camel color. I love the neutral tone and details of this sweater because I can mix it with a multitude of items in my closet this year like a pair of faux leather leggings or a plaid skirt.
I accessorized my look with an open-toe bronze mule because, of course, I live in Southern Florida where 70 degree weather causes residents to shiver. The metallic color makes them the perfect basic for the upcoming spring. But, for the rest of you experiencing actual temperature change, throw on a chunky-heeled boot and a heavy textured scarf and you will have perfectly winterized your look. To top things off, I added a pair of over-sized hoop earrings, which I have been loving this season. They add a funky, boho vibe to any ensemble (and at only $5, these Zalecien Silver pair can’t be beat). When selecting an over-sized hoop, look for a comfortable, light-weight pair. Notice my neutral LV bucket bag? It’s been in my family for years yet always seems fresh when I pull it out of the closet. Love the look but don’t have the budget for the likes of Louis Vuitton? Try this Ralph Lauren option instead.
I also wanted to highlight my red (just in time for the holidays) pointy nails. This trend is a fun option for you glamour girls that like to experiment with new looks. If you haven’t worn red nails in a while, give it a try. I especially love essie Gel Couture Essie Gel Couture which is super shiny and lasts up to 14 days.
